The amount will vary between house owners but it should be a few dollars a month. This money should cover any damages to the house during the time of your state. It is also meant to pay your property should your house be broken into.

Conduct a personal credit check. Sometimes, you may inquire about a house for lease but you are not allowed to move in afterwards. This may be because the owner has run a background check and realized that you have problems paying bills. Hence, they refuse to let you lease their houses.

Talk to the current tenants. If the landlord in difficult dealing with, the tenants will gladly let you know. Tenants will give you all the information you need, including the security and safety of the area.

Have a walk through. Walk around the neighborhood to know how it operates. You should also check out the house thoroughly before moving in.
