It is called WYSIWYG. It means what you see is what you get. You simply type your design in English and your work is automatically translated into HTML. People offering you employment always make sure that you understand basic HTML. Knowing this skill will also make you a better web designer.

From basic HTML, you will want to move to advances HTML. This involves tables, frames, and cascading style sheets. You will also learn how to update your site and how to install media.

In order to make your webpage look better you need to apply cascading style. This is a skill you will want to learn well, if you want to become a web designer. CSS is not that complicated to learn. You can start creating webpage once you learn this skill properly. You need very little time to learn this skill.

You also need to have skills in legal issue, contracts and how much to charge.

Most professional web designers work on the look and feel of their WebPages. Web designers pay a lot of attention to graphics and design layout. You also need to have artistic skills. You will want to be versed in color theory and composition. You also need to understand the white spaces and designs that flow. All this skills need to be combined to provide excellent content.

You need to keep a profile of your designs when working in this field. This will help you get prospective clients. This can include works that you created for class projects or items you?ve played around with. Clients would want to see your work profile. In order to demonstrate your skills you will need a wide variety of items.
