Search Engine Optimizing Tips: Link Building

By Michael Gillen

As you probably already know, one of the best methods of getting higher in Google is link building, or getting other people to link to you. By getting a lot of these links (or backlinks) to your website you will massively improve your ranking in Google which, as you know, is the best way to getting more traffic to your website. So, let's discuss a range of link building strategies to really make your website popular, and come up higher in Google.

Getting paid links (which is exactly what it sounds like, paying somebody to link to you) is against Google's terms of service and ultimately not needed. Submitting your link to other websites is just as good for your ranking, free, and you don't have to worry about Google penalizing your webpage for violating its terms of service.

If you can get a .gov or .edu link on the other hand, you can massively increase your website ranking. Now, any link building plan would do great to have these links, but it is naturally difficult to get links from their webpages. But, if an opportunity shows itself, jump on it.

A great way to getting more links to your website is by writing press releases. Just make sure that these press releases contain good, shareable information. A good press release should be more than just a piece of a search engine optimizing strategy; it should also teach people about your products and services.

Another way to significantly better your ranking in Google is to higher the services of an online marketing firm. These businesses specialize in getting your firm higher in Google, and getting your name out there on websites such as Facebook, and Twitter, and can help your organization improve significantly your firms website.
