Ways Of Mold Testing Illinois

By Michael Wagner

Molds growing at your home are not a good experience that many want to face as times the molds may even be poisonous if they do not affect the health of the members in the home. Rather than be unsure and leave suspected molds growth unattended to, house owners are advised to use Mold Testing Illinois to test their presence so as to have them eliminated.

The kits can either test the type of molds, if they are molds while others check both. As with the lift tape kits, they use a tacky and sticky surface to test the type of the molds. The tacky surface covers the sticky one which is placed onto the molds and then recovered by the tacky surface. The user then takes the tape to a laboratory where the exact type of molds is identified.

The next type of kit is used to check if there are molds. It includes a swab in a test tube and is names the instant kit. The swab is usually rubbed onto the surface that one suspect could be molds then returned into the tube. It is acceptable to set for approximately ten minutes then after that the owner can compare the color of the test tube with that presented in the color chart provided with the kit to analyze the results.

The viable kit is the next type. It is the most common type used as it shows the presence of the molds as well as its strain. The kit consists of a swab and petri dish that contains some gel inside it. The swab is wiped on the suspected molds then rubbed over the gel in the petri-dish dish. The dish is then closed and the molds are allowed to germinate from between 3 to 7 days.

The viable kit also tests air quality. To do this, two kits will be required. One of the petri dishes will be placed outside next to the room where the other petri dish is to be placed. The dishes are then opened for an hour and later closed for 7 days for molds to grow. If the results in the petri dishes are the same, there is no need to worry however of they are very different, then laboratory tests will be required.

The same way of allowing the kit to let molds grow in 7days inside it if they are in the house can also be sued to test the heating and cooling house systems. The petri dish is placed in a vent that is furthest form the system itself. All the other vents are closed and the system is set to run non optimum performance for 10 minutes. The dish is then picked and closed and the normal process is done to check for molds.

Often people try to remove the molds on their own but this can cause more harm to them especially if the types of molds are those that are poisonous. People are thus advised to seek an expert to remove the molds for them rather than try to perform the service on their own.

Molds have been known to lead to high allergies if left not contained with itchy skin and irritated eyes as a common sign of molds. For other people they tend to worsen their conditions example asthma.
