Progressing With A Tuition Agency

By Louise Blondin

The business of a tuition agency is very common in Singapore. These agencies are organizations which hire tutors and connect them with students to help them with their studies. Many parents in Singapore have high expectations of their kids and wish for their success. Students who struggle with certain subjects are not able to function or lack focus when taught these subjects, and this prevents them from catching up with the rest of their class.

The aim of the tutoring organization is to recruit a tutor who can provide support to the student in subjects they lack attention. The tutor also provides additional assistance when the students has to prepare for exams or assignments.

There are many websites offering the help of these tuition companies and tutors who are interested in working for them may register to these sites. Upon registration, the tutor has to be responsible for regularly updating his or her profile and credentials as this will give them a better chance to be hired by a client. The more qualified a tutor is, the higher they are paid. The agency will normally communicate through text messages or electronic mail with the tutor.

There are different costs for recruiting a teacher depending on the experience they possess and what qualifications they hold. A student who is an undergraduate or works part time will earn less than a trained teacher who has more experience and is more in demand. Tuition companies recruit tutors mostly for teaching at the students home and each lesson would last for an hour and a half.

Clients are given a list of teachers which they can choose from or they can do their own search for a tutor through the various tuition companies. When the company has found a suitable teacher for an assignment, the teacher pays the agency commission of fifty percent of his or her salary in their first month of teaching.

Tutors also have to agree to the terms and conditions of being employed. Firstly, the appropriate age to start tutoring is between the ages of sixteen and eighteen. Secondly, the individual would have to hold the appropriate qualifications.

The criteria for working for a tuition agency is that every tutor must have passed their A or O levels. In addition, they must possess the necessary knowledge of the syllabus that they will be instructing. There are part time opportunities and full time opportunities for instructors. Part time teaching is more suitable for undergraduates who are still in university and who are limited in their schedule due to their studies.

According to the requirements, a person must be a resident of Singapore and have adequate experience in the topic they instruct in. Undergraduate and graduate students qualify as well as lecturers in profession.

The benefits of hiring a private tutor through a tuition agency is that the schedules of the lessons can be arranged by the client and the agency may search for a suitable tutor who is flexible with that schedule.
